Time sure flies. School starts again on Monday. Where did my vacation go? But, this is finally my last semester. After 3 long years, I've finally made it to the end. I don't know what I'm going to do when I get to home everyday after work and don't have to do homework or study. Hope Brett can handle me being around every night!!

You can eat cake!!
Anyone who knows me knows my love for sweets!! All kinds, I'm not picky, cakes, cookies, candy. For Lent this year I gave up chocolate. Like I do ever year. So on Easter I had to make something with chocolate of course!!! I like to think I'm Betty Crocker, and am always trying to be creative with the things I make. So for Easter I decided to make a chocolate Easter basket cake. I did my best, and I think it came out really well. If nothing else it tasted darn good. So what do you think? Am I the next Ace of Cakes or what!!

Critters
Kelly and I had a little problem digging up our yard for the last few months. If you've lived in Florida for any length of time you'll know what I'm talking about. These critters come out at night and have a field day with your lawn, digging it up for food. I'm talking about an armadillo. These guys are dumb as rocks but that doesn't stop them from giving me fits. Since they come out in the middle of the night; I really don't have the time to wait up for them. And what would I do if I saw one; Judo chop it? So our armadillo is trying to become a Jones by creating a burrow under the hedges against the house. As if - it takes a lot more cool to be a Jones than a smelly armadillo has.
A lot of internet foolery suggests that mothballs or chili powder can get rid of these guys when you put it in their burrow. I found a much more simpler solution; fill it in with concrete. Can't burrow through that can you, CAN YOU?! NO HAHAHA! (Has this armadillo driven me crazy?)
So I went on the internet and found a guy that had the same problem and he had pictures of his armadillo trap. So I go to Lowe's and spend 20$ on wood to build a trap. I'm thinking to myself that this is never going to work; but I build it anyway. I put it out a couple weekends ago and had no luck. This armadillo is still waltzing around digging up my St. Augustine.
But I keep up with it and place the trap behind the house where I know it's digging. Low and behold one Monday morning I go out there and find him trapped! Who's crazy now!!! Better yet I caught him without any bait at all; yes they are dumb as rocks.
So the saga ends with me driving this armadillo in the trap (which he also pooped up a storm in; yes) to the dump to let him out. I leave him on the side of the road like a scene from a music video, with me hoping I never see another armadillo again.
Final score:
Smart Guys (1). Dumb Animals (0)

It's not St.Patricks Day anymore...
OK, so it's been a while since I've been on my blog. I opened it up this evening and realized I still had a St. Patricks Day background. OOOPS!! Anyway, I have updated it for Easter. I love Easter. Probably because I get to eat chocolate on Easter. MMMM!!!

I love the warm weather....
So I spent the last two weeks of February in Boston for work. The first week was cold but bearable, and it snowed, that was cool. Brett came up over the weekend to visit. The weekend he was up there it got really windy, and we froze our butt's off. We didn't think it was possible to feel as cold as we did. We had fun, but could only handle being outside for spurts of time. We saw the USS Constitution, went on a ferry boat ride in Boston Harbour, had lunch at an Irish Pub and visited Harvard. We also had some really good seafood at Legal Seafood. Below are some photos of our trip.
This is us on the USS Constitution
Brett at Harvard.
We had tons of fun, but are definitely glad to be back in the warm weather!!!

Welcome Cody and Tom....
It's time to welcome the new additions to the family, Cody and Tom. They were just too cute for mom and dad to resist, I think it was "puppy" love at first sight. The pups seem to be adjusting well to their new home. Tom has already discovered the pool, not on purpose though. He backed up too quickly and fell in, luckily dad was right there to pull him out. Good news is no one's fallen in since. They're keeping mom and dad on their toes, never a dull moment anymore!!! Oh, and by the way, Tom is the black one, Cody is the brown one.

Our happy family.....
So here's the story....Brett and Kelly meet, fall in love, get married and live happily ever after. Then Kelly and Hannah move in with Brett and Tibby, and we all become one big happy family. That is until Hannah and Tibby actually meet. Tibby is the sweet, cuddly cat, Hannah, well, let's just say she has a CATtitude (she's still sweet and cuddly, just on her own terms). The first night, not so good, no one got any sleep. Hannah thought it would be funny to meow ALL NIGHT LONG!! So we have some territorial issues, both of them want to be top cat, and cat fights arise. Brett and I wonder what we're going to do.
So let's fast forward a year or so. It would appear that Hannah and Tibby are still not the best of friends. At least that's what they want you believe, because when they think no one is watching, this is what we see. There are still cat fights, but I'm pretty sure they're just for show now. I think they've come to the realization that neither one of them is leaving, so they best just get along. We have the proof.
So here's to Hannah and Tibby. The best, gosh darn cutest cats ever!!!!

First timer....
OK, so I guess I'm the new blogger on the block. My good friend Stacy created a blog a few months ago and she has inspired me to create one of my own. Her's is really cute and I love to look at it. Mine is still a work in progress, but I'm doing my best.
So my husband and I (he's a home improvement guru) spent the weekend repainting our front door. It was a green/blue color, and now its a color called black raisin. Looks like a dark chocolate brown. We just got finished hanging it back up, and it looks amazing. Much better than the old color. I think our next project is going to be chair rail for our dining room. We've had our fill of major home improvement projects and go for the easy, done in a weekend, one's now.
Well, I'm going to end it there for today. I still need to get some work and homework done and need to stop procrastinating by writing this blog. Till next time.
